Commission - Xian-Zhu (Colored)

This one was a request from Reddit. What I learned about Xian-Zhu is that he is an ancient polymorphed dragon, and one of the last Dragon Lords in the land. I was told that Xian-Zhu was once the forward commander in a war and often get lost in thought contemplating about what he should or should not have done. I was told he has a vocal disdain for war in modern times, but will absolutely to violence when he feels it is necessary.

To me, Xian-Zhu sounds like a peacemaker at heart, but one that carries a big stick, so to speak. To convey this I decided to depict him with his hand on sword, but it's not quite drawn. It's a representation of his reluctance to fight, but his willingness to do so if it's his only option.

Xian-Zhu was an interesting challenge for me because it's the first time I've dabbled in an asian/oriental aesthetic. Most of my characters are rough around the edges with a more traditional european fantasy aesthetic. Xian-Zhu is royal, clean, and ornate. Overall, I think I did pretty well, though I probably won't return to this style unless it's personally requested.
